As per AICTE guidelines, a committee is formed for prevention of atrocities against SC/ST students under Act No. 33 of 1989, Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 an SC & ST Committee is formed in an institution for the session 2022-23. In case of any grievance in this regard, students can approach the committee for redressal. The committee will suggest measures to prevent atrocities, if any against the members of SC/ST students in College and to ensure the feeling of security amongst them as per the provisions in the said act.

Functions of the SC & ST Committee:

 (i) To collect reports and information of State Govt. and Central Govt. orders on various aspects of education, employment of SC/ST Students.

(ii) To circulate State Govt. and UGC decisions about different scholarship programs.

(iii) To communicate with the students and motivate them for better future planning.

(iv) To counsel and guide SC/ ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues of college life effectively.

(v) To ensure provisions of an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.

(vi) To provide prompt counselling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any event at the campus.

(vii) To provide the mechanism to redress the grievance of SC/ST students, if any

(viii) To arrange for special opportunities to enhance the carrier growth

(ix) To encourage and enlighten the SC/ST students with regard to the rights enshrined in the constitution.

Frequency of Meeting:

The SC& ST committee holds the meeting once at the beginning of each semester, and as per the requirement, the meeting can be scheduled at any time to resolve any case.

 Attendance in the meeting:

Around 80 to 90 Percent of committee members are always present in the meeting
