The Institution’s teaching and learning strategy is to provide an exceptional, distinctive and high-quality learning experience for all students. Effective engagement of the University community in academic decision-making is an integral part of this strategy. To provide effective engagement of the Institution’s academic community in academic decision-making and to improve the quality of teaching, an academic council is formed with the following members for the session 2022-23:

 

 

Functions of Academic Council:

(i) The Academic Council shall primarily be concerned with all the academic affairs of the Institute, encompassing academic staff, academic planning, instructional issues, students, co-curricular activities, discipline and so on. It is the responsibility of Academic Council to endeavor and ensure the best practices are implemented and standards are maintained as per University norms.

(ii) Framing and revising the academic calendar of the institute as per guidelines of University.

(iii) Arranging teaching requirements for completing academic programs.

(iv) Making arrangements for conducting sessional and examinations, as required.

(v) Supervising the functioning of the Central Library of the college.

(vi) Promoting research activity within the institute

(vii) Collaborating with other academic institutes and industry.

(viii) Creating a conducive environment in order to develop entrepreneurship.

(ix) Ensuring discipline amongst the students.

(x) Facilitating and supervising the co-curricular activities for the students.

(xi) Encouraging students with awards, stipends, scholarships, medals and prizes.

(xii) Guiding students to utilize the placement and training activities for their career enhancement.

(xiii) Appointing committees from amongst the college teaching faculty and experts from outside, in order to sort out and advice on specific academic issues. Consequently acting on the recommendations of such committees after due considerations.

(xiv) Appointing a review committee periodically, in order to review all the institute academic activities, including the curricula, academic rules and regulations. Consequently acting on its recommendations after due considerations.

(xv) Planning and executing the overall academic growth of the institute includingappraisals. Finally making recommendations to the Governing body, wherever necessary.

 

Frequency of Meeting:

The Academic council meets quarterly in an academic session and can schedule meeting in between as per the requirement.

 

Attendance in the meeting:

Around 80 to 90 Percent of committee members are always     present in the meeting
