Department of Biotechnology Engineering in association with the Innovation Cell along with the Training & Placement cell, GITM organized an industrial visit on 19.12.2022 to Varun Beverages Limited, Sandila, Uttar Pradesh for B.Tech Biotechnology 2nd Year students to better understand the food and beverages production, processing, packaging and distribution process in detail. A batch of 24 students along with faculty coordinators Ms. Kanchan Bhatt and Ms. Surya Mishra visited the location. Deputy Manager Ms. Anjali Gupta welcomed the students and given a brief introduction about the company and their production process. She told that Varun Beverages Limited is an Indian Company that produces bottles and distributes beverages which includes carbonated soft drinks of PepsiCo such as pepsi, 7Up, Mountain Dew and Mirinda, the company also distributes Tropicana fruit juice brands, energy drinks and Aquafina brand of bottled water and is the largest volume plant in the world. Further Mr. Nitin Saxena (Plant Head) explained to students about the working procedure of the industry. He also told about the different processes and tests involved such as microbial testing, juice manufacturing, Drying, and packaging. Washing and sterilization process of used bottles. They told students that their waste management system works extremely well and works on zero waste management. This visit helped our students to better understand the actual working of plant and different techniques. All the protocols were strictly followed by each staff so that there is no hindrance in smooth functioning. Mr. Amit Anand Agarwal (Dy.
