The Student Chapter IGBC (Indian Green Building Council), and Innovation Cell, GITM organized a Workshop on “Enhancing School Environment to Greener and Healthier Space”at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) UP State Office, Lucknow on 5th August 2022. The key speaker Mr. Amit Srivastava (Co-Chairman, IGBC, Western UP Chapter) and Mr. Nilesh Kumar Rana (Executive Officer, , IGBC, Western UP Chapter) elaborated on how green building creates an environment where students and teachers are more comfortable, less prone to illness and more focused on teaching. They also elaborated how to make the conventional school a truly green compliant school through innovative methods . This program helped to enable both new and existing schools to adopt sustainable practices, enhanced health & wellbeing of students & teachers, operational savings in energy and water, enhancing ventilation standards and excellent day lighting, improved cognitive abilities of students and increased sensitivity to planet earth through education. The faculties and students of the Civil Engineering Department of Goel Institute of Technology & Management attended the workshop session in offline modes and took benefits and gained knowledge about Green Building.
