Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities, GITM along with Innovation Cell, GITM organized a sequence of diversified math’s/science competition on the eve of National Mathematics Day’2021. The National Mathematics Day is celebrated on the occasion of 134th Birth Anniversary of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan on 22nd December 2021. Srinivasa Ramanujan has made great contributions in the field of mathematics and is known for his brilliant mathematical formulae which are yet to be proved by mathematicians. The events were exclusively for all the first/second year students with an objective to improve the thinking ability and awareness program amongst students towards creation of society having peace & harmony through Innovative Ideas of Mathematics for a Better World. A total no. of 208 participants had registered and participated in the three science-based events. Among 208 participants, 75 were registered in the Test of Knowledge Event (On Stage Quiz Contest), 58 registered in the Colorful Minds Event (Poster Competition, The Innovative Ideas of Mathematics for a Better World) and 75 registered in the Mathemagician Event (Power Point Presentation, Theme: The Innovative Ideas of Mathematics for a Better World). All the events have been judged by the panel of judge’s team. Certificates were given by the dignitaries to winners who participated in different events. The Programme was conducted successfully by Dr. Atul Kumar – HOD-AS&H, Faculty Coordinators and Students Volunteers, and felt extremely happy to acknowledge the hard work of First Year and Second Year Students with full enthusiasm.
