Goel Institute of Technology & Management, Lucknow, GITM Innovation Cell Along with Department of Computer science and Engineering and Training & Placement organized Field visit for B.Tech (CSE/IT) 3rd year students to TCS, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow on 17 February 2023. TCS Coordinator for visit:Mr. Abhishek Saxena(Academic Relationship Manager in TCS) Faculty Coordinator:Ms. (Assistant Professor, CSE) Around 49 students and Faculty members attended the session The Main objective of industrial visit was to bridge the gap between classroom teaching and practical working environment and to bring in some positive intangible changes to the personalities of students which results from long distance group travel and industrial visit. The visit was a part of their industrial visit program which was arranged by college as a part of the Industrial Exposure Program. The students were welcomed by Mr. Abhishek Saxena. Mr. Abhishek Saxena gave a brief introduction about TCS. He narrated briefly how TCS was born and today where it stands in the industry. He gave information about TCS governing body right from Chief Executive Officer till Chairman. TCS is a MNC spread across 46 countries, and over 300,000 of the world’s best-trained IT consultants. He explained about values of TCS like Leading change, Integrity, respect for Individual, Excellence, Learning and Sharing. He also told about the recruitment system of TCS and their expectations from the candidates whom they wanted to recruit. He also explained about sectors in which TCS is providing services ranging from Assurance services, BI & Performance Management, Business Process Services, Consulting, Enterprise Solutions, SAP Solutions, IT Infrastructure Services, ION Small and Medium Business etc. He also explained how TCS has made itself in all walks of service providing and consultancy. He then explained about the current working domains of TCS: 1) Product Development, Designing & Maintenance Programmers 2) Quality Assurance Testing Engineers 3) IT Infrastructure Support 4) Cloud Computing & IoT 5) Networking Support 6) ERP 7) Cognitive Healthcare Network 8) Smart Water Management System 9) Smart Driving System 10) Gathering Head Count in an Emergency Industrial visit to TCS was a huge success which was full of knowledge. Students got to know the working methodology of a MNC company, got to know how the people are working. Students got industrial exposure on this trip. All agreed that such trips must be organized more frequently in future.
