We are glad to inform you that Department of Biotechnology Engineering under the flagship of GITM Innovation Cell, was successfully organized “An Expert Talk” on the topic: “Pectin Methylesterase generated Methanol for plant insect resistance” under the theme: “Process of Innovation Development and Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Commercialization of Lab Technologies and Tech-Transfer” on 08.02.2022, Tuesday (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, IST). The Eminent keynote speaker for this event was Dr. Praveen C. Verma, Principal Scientist, CSIR- National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow. There are many research projects completed and running under him which is funded by different government agencies. He is editor and reviewer of many prestigious journals. He also holds 5 sanctioned patents. He explained about PME generated methanol for plant insect resistance. Moreover, he also talks about how agricultural fields are affected by different lepidopterons species like Helicoverpa armigera, Spodoptera litura etc. and how he developed transgenic plants against them in his laboratory. Furthermore, around more than 100 Research Scholars, Faculty Members, UG and PG students took part in this talk through Google meet and Facebook live and benefitted. Participants were interacted with the speaker and clear their doubts. Participants who participated in this event awarded with E-Certificates. There was no registration charge for this talk.
