“Exciting news from Goel Institute of Technology and Management! Today, the Department of Information Technology hosted a fantastic FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) event in collaboration with FOSS United. The event brought together 2nd-year CS and IT students, along with students from other colleges, to explore the world of open-source software.
We had the honor of hearing from three amazing speakers:
1. Venkatesh Chaturvedi introduced us to “”Not”” Emulators, sharing innovative approaches to hardware functionalities.
2. James Reilly talked about “”How to Disrupt the Communication Industry with a FOSS Alternative?”” and highlighted the power of open-source communication tools.
3. Anushka Bhandari inspired us with “”How Open Source Communities are Bringing a Population Scale Social Impact,”” showcasing how open-source communities are making a real difference.
A big thanks to HOD IT Mr. Shivam Shukla and our faculty members Mr. Shubham and Mr. Siddarth Singh for their support. Kudos to the organizing and volunteering team: Rohit Kumar Yadav, Diva Gupta, Ashish Yadav, and Aviraj Saxena, for making this event a huge success!
This event is just the beginning of a vibrant FOSS community in Lucknow. We are excited to see how students, faculty, and industry experts will collaborate and innovate together in the open-source space.
Stay tuned for more updates and join us in fostering a thriving FOSS community in Lucknow!
