About the Department
The Department of Electrical Engineering at Goel Institute of Technology and Management (GITM), Lucknow, was established in 2010 and offers a four-year B.Tech programme affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. The department is committed to delivering quality technical education through a smart, effective, and student-centric teaching–learning environment. It is supported by modern infrastructure including a well-stocked library, spacious classrooms equipped with overhead projectors, seminar halls, an auditorium, and a conference hall, fostering an interactive and engaging academic atmosphere. Faculty members and students have online access to national and international journals, enabling continuous learning, research, and innovation. The department houses well-equipped laboratories, namely Electrical Machines Lab, Power Systems Lab, Control Systems Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Electrical Measurements &
Instrumentation Lab, and Network Theory Lab. These laboratories provide extensive hands-on exposure aligned with the university curriculum and contemporary industry practices.
To enhance digital and experiential learning, the department actively promotes Virtual Labs, e- learning platforms, and online certified courses offered by IITs through NPTEL, SWAYAM, and Spoken Tutorials (IIT Bombay). A wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities are regularly organized under the guidance of experienced and enthusiastic faculty members, contributing to students’ technical competence, professional skills, and overall personality development. Innovative assignments, problem-solving exercises, and focused mentoring are integral to the teaching–learning process. Slow learners receive additional academic support,
while meritorious students are encouraged through advanced training, exposure to emerging technologies, and research opportunities. The department takes pride in the academic excellence of its students. Ms. Radhika Pandey secured the Silver Medal (2nd Position) in AKTU examinations (2020–21), Mr. Abhishek Singh achieved the Gold Medal (1st Position) in AKTU examinations (2024–25), and Mr. Aryan Maurya secured 8th Position in AKTU examinations (2023–24). Mr. Maurya also achieved an All India Rank of 832 in the GATE examination and is currently pursuing M.Tech in Construction Technology and Management at IIT Delhi under the prestigious Larsen & Toubro Build India Scholarship, with placement as a Senior Engineer at Larsen & Toubro. Students regularly qualify the GATE examination, and alumni are placed in reputed private-sector organizations or pursuing higher education at premier institutions. In sports and extracurricular achievements, Mr. Abhinav Kumar was awarded a Gold Medal in the Taekwondo Championship 2022, organized by the Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association. Additionally, students actively participated in the Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp, organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and AICTE, strengthening their entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving capabilities. The department encourages creativity and expression through its quarterly E-cum-Wall magazine, showcasing students’ innovation, literary skills, and technical insights under the URJA Departmental Student Club. Faculty members are highly qualified, with significant contributions in research publications and patents.

Head of Department
Mohd Shariq Ansari is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Goel Institute of Technology and Management, Lucknow, and is currently holding the responsibility of Department Incharge. He is dedicated to the field of teaching ftom last 13 years and is deeply committed to fostering a strong academic foundation among students.
With a passion for education, he emphasizes both theoretical understanding and practical application of electrical engineering concepts. He actively guides students in developing their technical competencies, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
He believes in nurturing confidence and professional growth among students, preparing them to meet industry challenges and build successful careers. His student-centric approach and commitment to academic excellence contribute significantly to the overall development of the department and institution.

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Goel Institute of Technology and Management, Lucknow, is committed to imparting quality education and developing strong technical foundations along with industry-relevant skills. The department emphasizes core domains such as power systems, electrical machines, power electronics, control systems, and renewable energy technologies to meet the evolving needs of the electrical engineering profession.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)
- PEO1: To prepare students for delivering solutions of industrial and research-oriented problems in electrical and allied disciplines with professional ethics in current scenario.
- PEO2: To train students for higher studies by delivering complete theoretical knowledge and practical exposure of advanced technologies in the field of electrical engineering with a worldwide outlook.
- PEO3: To impart capabilities of teamwork, leadership, creative thinking and managerial skills to students in order to start-up their business or develop as entrepreneur in the field of electrical engineering.
- PEO4: To encourage students to learn ethical human values as well as become responsible citizens of the society.
Program Outcomes (PO)
1-> Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
2-> Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
3-> Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
4-> Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions..
5-> Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
6-> The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

Congratulations to Sachin Shukla and Vaishnavi Chaurasiya, 3rd Year students of Electrical Engineering, for successfully completing the Kalam Pragati MakeX Internship 2025 in Autonomous Robotics, organized by the ERA Foundation in collaboration with Dr. A.P.J.
Abdul Kalam Technical University. The internship was conducted from 04/08/2025 to 01/09/2025.
During this intensive program, the students gained hands-on experience in autonomous robotics, embedded systems, and real-time problem-solving. Their successful completion of this prestigious internship reflects their technical competence, dedication, and commitment to emerging technologies.

Mr. Rishi Kumar and Mr. Md. Shariq Ansari contributed as evaluators for the Preliminary Evaluation of the School Innovation Marathon, organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, Government of India, during the academic year 2024–2025.
Mohd. Shariq in The Mastersclass Series under IP Utsav, organized by the All India Council for Technichical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) from 21 st April to 26 th April 2025 in academic year 2024-2025.
Students actively participated in the Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp held on 23rd September 2024 at Integral University, organized by the All India
Council for Technical Education in association with the Ministry of Education. Innovation Cell, Government of India. The bootcamp offered a dynamic platform for students to engage in design thinking, innovation processes, and entrepreneurial development. Through expert guidance, collaborative activities, and practical sessions, participants enhanced their problem- solving abilities, idea validation skills, and understanding of the startup ecosystem, fostering a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
